Lily was a preschooler who loved to play! She loved building towers of blocks, painting bright pictures, and singing silly songs. But sometimes, when it was time for bed, Lily didn't want to sleep.
Her mommy always had a special bedtime routine for her. First, they brushed their teeth together, giggling as they made funny faces in the mirror. Then, they put on pajamas – Lily's favorite were her fluffy bunny pajamas.
Next came the best part: reading a story together. Mommy would read Lily's favorite book about a friendly little bear who loved honey. Lily would snuggle close, listening intently to the words.
After the story, Mommy would softly sing Lily a lullaby. Lily loved hearing Mommy's gentle voice. But even with the bedtime routine, sometimes Lily would still feel restless. She worried about the dark.
One night, Mommy showed Lily a special nightlight shaped like a little star. The star shone a soft, gentle glow, turning Lily's room into a cozy cave of stars. Lily felt much safer with the friendly star shining beside her.
Mommy explained that sleep is like going on a magical adventure. While Lily slept, she would visit wonderful dreamlands. She could fly with friendly birds, play hide-and-seek with playful bunnies, or even visit a land made entirely of candy!
Lily's eyes grew wide. She imagined herself flying high above the clouds on the back of a giant, fluffy sheep! She smiled, thinking about all the amazing dreams she could have.
That night, Lily fell asleep quickly. She dreamt of bouncing castles and swimming in rivers of chocolate milk. When she woke up in the morning, she felt happy and refreshed, ready for another fun-filled day at preschool.
From that day on, Lily looked forward to bedtime. She knew that a good night's sleep helped her play even harder during the day, and the dreams she had were magical and wonderful. She learned that following her bedtime routine and embracing the magic of sleep made her a happy and healthy preschooler.
