Ollie the ostrich was a very curious bird. He loved exploring the savannah before sunset, but bedtime was always a bit tricky. He'd flutter his long eyelashes, wishing he could stay up longer, but his mama always said, "A good night's sleep helps you grow big and strong, Ollie!"
One night, Ollie was playing hide-and-seek with his best friend, a little meerkat named Pip. They giggled as Pip squeezed into tiny holes, but Ollie, with his long legs, had to hide behind large acacia trees.
Suddenly, a strong wind blew, rustling the leaves and making strange noises. Pip squeaked with fright, hiding even deeper in his burrow. Ollie, although a little scared, felt brave. He remembered his mama's words about being strong and decided to help Pip.
Ollie used his long neck to gently lift a branch that was blocking Pip's burrow entrance. Pip popped out, relieved and grateful. "Thank you, Ollie!" he chirped. Ollie smiled, feeling proud of his bravery and happy to help his friend.
After their game, they snuggled together under the starry African sky. Pip told Ollie stories of the twinkling stars, and Ollie shared his dreams of flying across the wide savannah. They both felt sleepy and content.
They made a pact to always look out for each other, no matter what. Ollie realized that true friendship made everything better, even bedtime. He snuggled into his nest, feeling safe and warm, knowing he had a loyal friend and a comforting bedtime story to remember.
Ollie drifted off to sleep, dreaming of adventures with Pip. He slept soundly, knowing that a good night's sleep would help him be even kinder and braver tomorrow, ready for another day of fun and friendship on the savannah.
