Luna was a very special unicorn. Her horn didn't just shine, it *sparkled*! It sprinkled glittery dust everywhere she went, making flowers bloom brighter and streams shimmer with rainbow colors. Luna loved her sparkle, and sometimes, she didn't want to share it.
One sunny morning, Barnaby Bear asked Luna to sprinkle some sparkle on his blueberry patch. “Maybe the sparkle will help the blueberries grow bigger!” he hoped. Luna hesitated. She wanted to keep all the sparkle for herself to make her own meadow extra beautiful. “Um… maybe later, Barnaby,” she said.
Later, Rosie Rabbit asked for a little sparkle to brighten her burrow. It was a bit dark inside, and Rosie was feeling a little sad. Again, Luna didn’t want to share. She trotted away, leaving Rosie with droopy ears.
As Luna played alone, she noticed something. Her meadow *felt* empty. The flowers were bright, but no one was there to admire them with her. She saw Barnaby looking sadly at his blueberries, and Rosie hopping slowly back to her dark burrow. Luna’s sparkle didn’t feel so special anymore.
Luna realized that sparkle was much more fun when shared! She galloped back to Barnaby and sprinkled a generous amount of glittery dust over his blueberry patch. “Wow!” cried Barnaby. “Thank you, Luna! These will be the best blueberries ever!”
Then, Luna hurried to Rosie’s burrow and sprinkled sparkle all around the entrance. Rosie peeked out, her eyes wide with delight. “It’s beautiful!” she squeaked. “Now my burrow feels warm and cozy!”
Luna spent the rest of the day sharing her sparkle with all her friends. She sprinkled it on Finley Fox’s painting, on Penelope Penguin’s ice sculpture, and even on Old Man Turtle’s shell. Each time, she felt a warm glow inside, much brighter than her sparkly horn.
Luna learned that sharing her sparkle didn’t make it disappear; it made everything – and everyone – shine brighter. And that, she discovered, was the most magical feeling of all. Now, every night, Luna shares her sparkle with the forest, making sweet dreams for all her friends. Close your eyes now, and maybe you'll feel a little sparkle too.
