Little Leo was a very happy baby. He loved to giggle and play all day long! But now, the sun was starting to set, painting the sky in soft pinks and oranges. It was almost time for bed. Mama said, "It's time to say goodnight, my sweet Leo."
First, Leo said goodnight to his toes! He wiggled them happily. "Goodnight, toes! You helped me kick and splash!" Then, he waved goodnight to his fingers. "Goodnight, fingers! You helped me grab my toys!"
Mama pointed to the window. "Let's say goodnight to the moon, Leo." Leo gazed at the bright, round moon. "Goodnight, Moon! You shine so brightly!"
Next, they said goodnight to the stars twinkling in the dark blue sky. "Goodnight, Stars! You sparkle and shimmer!"
Leo’s fluffy teddy bear, Barnaby, was sitting on the chair. "Goodnight, Barnaby! You give the best cuddles!" Leo gave Barnaby a gentle squeeze.
Mama pointed to the little fish swimming in his mobile. "Goodnight, little fishies! You swim and twirl so gracefully!"
Even the quiet plants on the windowsill got a goodnight. "Goodnight, plants! You grow so tall and green!"
Leo’s favorite blanket was soft and warm. "Goodnight, Blanket! You keep me cozy and safe!"
Mama held Leo close and whispered, "And now, goodnight my sweet little Leo. I love you very much."
Leo snuggled into Mama’s arms, feeling warm and loved. He closed his eyes, remembering all the wonderful things he had seen and done that day. He was so grateful for his toes, his fingers, the moon, the stars, Barnaby, the fishies, the plants, and especially his Mama.
With a tiny yawn, Leo drifted off to sleep, dreaming sweet dreams. Goodnight, Leo. Sleep tight.
