Barnaby Bun was a very small bunny. He loved to hop and skip and play all day long! But when the sun started to set, Barnaby felt tired.
He hopped and hopped, searching for the perfect place to snuggle down for a nap. He looked under a big, leafy cabbage, but it was too damp.
Next, he tried a cozy burrow under an old oak tree, but a grumpy badger was already snoozing there!
Barnaby sighed. He was getting sleepy, but he couldn't find the right spot. He hopped a little further, his tiny nose twitching.
Then, he saw it! A soft patch of moss nestled beside a gentle stream. The sun was almost gone, painting the sky in lovely shades of orange and pink.
Barnaby snuggled into the moss. It was soft and warm, and the sound of the little stream was like a lullaby. He closed his eyes.
He dreamt of juicy carrots and sweet clover. He dreamt of hopping through fields of wildflowers. He dreamt of a peaceful, happy sleep.
Barnaby slept soundly until the morning sun woke him with its gentle warmth. He stretched his little legs and felt refreshed and ready for a brand-new day of hopping and playing.
He knew now that even a very short bedtime is a very good bedtime, especially when spent in a comfy, peaceful place. And he knew how important it was to get a good night’s sleep so he could have lots of energy for all his adventures the next day!
From that day on, Barnaby always looked forward to his bedtime, knowing that a good night's rest would make him a happy, healthy bunny.
