In a time long, long ago, when the world was green and new, lived a Tyrannosaurus Rex named Timmy. Now, you might think a T-Rex would be loud and stompy, but Timmy was different. Timmy had a very big heart, a gentle rumbling voice, and he tried his very best to be kind to everyone, even the smallest beetles and the fastest little dinosaurs.
Timmy was the biggest creature in the Whispering Valley, which meant he could see things others couldn't. He could peek over the tall ferns and spot the juiciest berries high on the branches. He could also reach them, carefully plucking them with his large snout and placing them gently on the ground for his smaller friends, like the three little duck-billed dinosaurs, Plink, Plank, and Plunk.
Sometimes, Timmy's size was a little tricky. When he walked, the ground trembled a bit, which could make the little lizards scamper away in surprise. When he tried to play hide-and-seek, his tail always gave him away behind even the biggest trees. And his tiny arms weren't much good for catching fireflies, no matter how much he wiggled them!
But Timmy learned how to be gentle with his bigness. He learned to step softly when walking near the sleeping nests of the little Pterodactyl chicks. He learned to dip his head low and speak in a quiet rumble when talking to the tiny Compsognathus dinosaurs so he wouldn't startle them. He even learned to use his wide back to provide shade for his friends on very sunny days.
One evening, as the sun began to paint the sky orange and purple, Timmy saw Plink, Plank, and Plunk trying to cross a little stream. The stepping stones were small, and they were nervous. Timmy carefully lay down on his belly, creating a big, safe bridge with his body across the water. The little dinosaurs giggled as they scurried across Timmy's back, thanking him when they reached the other side.
Being gentle and kind made Timmy feel warm inside, much warmer than the evening sun. He knew he was big, but he also knew his bigness could be used for good. He settled down under the starry sky, feeling happy and loved by his friends in the Whispering Valley, ready for sweet dreams of gentle giant adventures.
