Sammy the Submarine was a bright yellow submarine who loved exploring the big blue ocean. He wasn't the fastest submarine, and he wasn't the biggest, but he was known throughout the reef as the kindest. Every morning, Sammy would wave to the seahorses and blow bubble greetings to the jellyfish.
One day, Sammy heard a tiny sob. He zoomed (as fast as a bright yellow submarine *can* zoom!) towards the sound and found Coral, a little rainbow fish, looking very sad. “What’s wrong, Coral?” asked Sammy gently.
Coral sniffled. “I… I lost my sparkle! A big wave swept through the coral garden, and all my shiny scales floated away! Now I don’t look rainbow-y anymore.” Coral’s scales weren’t just pretty; they helped her play hide-and-seek with her friends!
Sammy knew he had to help. “Don’t worry, Coral!” he said. “We’ll find your sparkle! I’ll use my bright light to search the ocean floor.” And so, their adventure began. Sammy carefully steered his submarine through swaying seaweed forests and past grumpy-looking pufferfish.
They searched and searched, but the sparkle seemed to be nowhere. Sammy started to feel a little worried. It was a *lot* of sparkle to find! But then, he remembered what his mama submarine always said: “Even a little kindness can make a big difference.”
Sammy asked a school of silverfish if they had seen any shiny scales. They hadn’t, but they offered to help look! Then, a wise old turtle pointed them towards a bubbly cave. Inside, they found a group of tiny crabs using Coral’s scales to decorate their homes! They hadn’t realized the scales belonged to someone.
Sammy explained to the crabs about Coral and her lost sparkle. The crabs were very sorry and happily gave back all the scales. Sammy carefully attached each shiny scale back onto Coral, one by one. Soon, Coral was shimmering and rainbow-bright again!
Coral giggled with delight. “Thank you, Sammy! You’re the best submarine ever!” She zoomed off to play hide-and-seek with her friends, sparkling brighter than ever before. Sammy smiled. Helping others always made *him* feel sparkly inside. He continued his journey, knowing that even a small submarine could have a big adventure and make a big difference.
As the sun began to set, painting the ocean in shades of orange and purple, Sammy returned home, feeling happy and tired. He knew that tomorrow would bring another day full of ocean adventures and opportunities to be kind.
