In a cozy little house, lived a girl named Lily. Lily had a special, bright red cloak that her Grandma had made for her. It was warm and soft, and Lily loved wearing it. One sunny morning, Mommy packed a basket full of yummy treats, like warm bread and sweet berries. 'Please take this basket to Grandma,' Mommy said. 'She will be so happy to see you and share these goodies!'
Lily put on her lovely red cloak and carefully held the basket. 'Okay, Mommy!' she said with a smile. She waved goodbye and skipped down the path that led through the edge of the happy woods. The sunbeams peeked through the green leaves high in the tall trees, making sparkly patterns on the ground right in front of her feet. She could hear the gentle rustle of leaves and the cheerful chirping of little birds.
As Lily walked, she saw tiny blue flowers growing near the path, looking up at the sky. She saw a busy squirrel burying a nut with its quick paws and a fluffy bunny twitching its nose near a bush. They weren't scary at all; they just watched her go by on her way to Grandma's. Lily felt happy seeing all the little creatures in their homes in the trees and bushes. The woods felt friendly and bright all around her today.
Soon, after walking just a little further, Lily saw Grandma's sweet cottage peeking through the trees. It had a bright red door and a little garden where colorful flowers were blooming. Grandma was sitting on her porch swing, gently rocking and knitting something soft. When she saw Lily in her red cloak coming up the path, her face lit up like the sun on a warm summer's day. 'Oh, my dear Lily!' Grandma called out happily, putting down her knitting.
Lily hurried up the path and gave Grandma a big, warm hug around her neck. 'Hello, Grandma! Mommy sent you some treats in this basket,' Lily said, carefully holding up the basket for Grandma to see. Grandma carefully took the basket and smiled. 'How wonderful and kind of you to bring these! Thank you, my little sunshine. Let's go inside and have a little tea party right away with these yummy things,' Grandma suggested warmly.
Inside, the cottage was warm and smelled gently of lavender from Grandma's garden. Grandma put the treats neatly on a pretty plate, and they sat together at the little wooden table in the kitchen. They shared the soft bread and the sweet berries, and Grandma poured them both some warm milk in their favorite mugs (Lily's had a little bunny on it). They talked about Lily's walk through the woods and all the little animals she had seen. They giggled about silly things too.
After their lovely treat time and happy chat, Grandma wrapped her arms around Lily for a big, cozy cuddle. 'It was so kind and thoughtful of you to visit and bring these special treats,' Grandma said softly, giving Lily a gentle squeeze. Lily snuggled close, feeling very safe and loved. Visiting Grandma was always the very best part of the day. Soon, it was time for a quiet rest before the walk home, and Lily felt peaceful and happy in Grandma's warm and cozy cottage.
