Once upon a time, in a cozy little house near a whispering woods, lived a happy little girl named Lily. Lily had a bright red cape with a pointy hood that she loved to wear everywhere. It made her feel like a cheerful little berry skipping along.
One sunny morning, Lily's mother packed a basket with yummy treats: soft bread, sweet jam, and juicy apples. "Please take this to Grandma," she said with a smile. "She loves it when you visit! But remember to stay on the sunny path through the woods."
Lily put on her red cape and skipped out the door, holding the basket carefully. The path into the woods was dappled with sunlight shining through the green leaves. Little birds sang happy songs high up in the trees, and fuzzy squirrels scampered up and down the trunks.
As Lily walked, she saw pretty blue flowers blooming by the path. A friendly little bunny hopped by, wiggling its nose. Lily waved hello. The bunny twitched its ears and hopped away into the bushes. Everything in the woods seemed happy and gentle today.
Lily hummed a little tune as she walked. She saw tall trees that tickled the sky and fuzzy moss growing on the stones. She stayed right on the sunny path, just like her mother had said. Soon, she could smell the sweet scent of Grandma's baking. It smelled like gingerbread!
Just around the bend, through the last of the trees, Lily saw Grandma's little cottage. Smoke curled happily from the chimney, and colorful flowers bloomed in the garden. Lily skipped right up to the door and knocked-knock-knocked.
Grandma opened the door, and her face lit up with a big, warm smile. "My dear Lily! And in your lovely red cape! Come in, come in!" Grandma gave Lily a big hug that smelled like sunshine and warm biscuits.
Lily gave Grandma the basket of treats. Grandma was so happy! They sat together by the window, shared the yummy things from the basket, and Grandma told Lily funny stories. Lily felt warm and happy inside, glad she had come to visit her Grandma in her little cottage in the friendly woods.
As the sun began to set, painting the sky in soft orange and pink, Lily knew it was time to go home. She gave Grandma another big hug. Walking back along the sunny path, the woods felt even cozier in the twilight. Lily knew her visit had made Grandma happy, and that made her feel happy too. She snuggled into her red cape, feeling loved and content, ready for sleepy dreams.
