Barnaby Rabbit was a very bouncy bunny! He loved to hop and skip and wiggle his nose all day long. But when bedtime came, Barnaby found it hard to settle down. He’d wiggle his ears and twitch his whiskers, and bounce right back up when Mama Rabbit tucked him in.
“Oh, Barnaby,” Mama Rabbit would say with a gentle smile. “It’s time for quiet now. Let’s have a bedtime routine.” She started by giving Barnaby a warm wash with a soft cloth. Barnaby giggled as Mama Rabbit gently cleaned behind his ears.
Next, Mama Rabbit read Barnaby a story about a little cloud who drifted peacefully across the sky. Barnaby snuggled close, listening to the calming words. He imagined floating with the cloud, soft and slow.
Then, Mama Rabbit sang a quiet song about sleepy stars and a moonbeam’s glow. Barnaby closed his eyes, feeling safe and warm in his burrow. He loved his Mama’s voice; it always made him feel cozy.
After the song, Mama Rabbit gave Barnaby a big, warm hug. “You are so loved, my little bunny,” she whispered. Barnaby hugged her back, feeling all his bouncy energy melt away.
Mama Rabbit tucked Barnaby into his bed of soft clover. She left a tiny nightlight glowing, just enough to chase away any shadows. “Remember, Barnaby,” she said, “a bedtime routine helps you feel calm and safe.”
Barnaby took a deep breath, remembering the warm wash, the peaceful story, the sweet song, and his Mama’s loving hug. He wiggled his nose one last time, then closed his eyes. He wasn’t bouncy anymore. He was sleepy.
Soon, Barnaby Rabbit was fast asleep, dreaming of fluffy clouds and twinkling stars. He knew that even when he woke up, Mama Rabbit’s love would be there, and his bedtime routine would always help him feel safe and sound. Sweet dreams, little bunny!
