Pete the Cat loved to play! He'd zoom around his house, his little bell jingling with every hop. He’d chase butterflies in the garden and play hide-and-seek with his best friend, a fluffy white kitten named Snowball.
But as the sun started to set, painting the sky in shades of orange and purple, Mama Cat would call, "Pete, it's time for bed!"
Pete would stretch and yawn, his blue eyes getting sleepy. He knew bedtime meant a special routine. First, he'd snuggle with Snowball and share a quiet purr.
Next, Mama Cat would help Pete put on his cozy pajamas, soft and blue, just like the sky. Then, it was time for a warm bath. Pete loved splashing in the water, but he knew it was time to be calm and sleepy when his bath was over.
After his bath, Pete would choose his favorite bedtime book. Sometimes it was a story about silly monkeys, other times a book about friendly frogs. Mama Cat would read to him in a gentle, soothing voice.
After the story, Pete would brush his teeth, a tiny bit of toothpaste making bubbles on his whiskers. He'd then climb into his comfy bed, his favorite blue blanket tucked around him.
Mama Cat would give him a big hug and a kiss goodnight. She’d tell Pete how much she loved him and how much fun they'd had that day. As he snuggled into his pillows, Pete would close his eyes and feel his body relax.
Pete thought about all the happy things from his day, the sun shining on his fur, the yummy treats he'd eaten, and all his fun games with Snowball. He felt peaceful and calm, ready for sweet dreams.
Pete the Cat drifted off to sleep, dreaming of sunny days and fun adventures to come. He knew that a calm bedtime routine made for the best sleep, and he couldn’t wait for another playful day tomorrow!
