Once upon a time, there were three little pigs who loved to play and explore. One sunny day, they decided it was time to build their very own homes. 'Let's build houses!' squealed the first little pig. 'Yes!' said the second little pig. 'A place to be cozy!' added the third little pig.
The first little pig was very quick. He found lots of soft, golden straw and built his house in a flash! 'All done!' he giggled, ready to play. His brothers smiled and kept working.
The second little pig found many twigs and sticks. He worked a little longer than the first, tying the sticks together to make walls and a roof. 'My house is ready!' he called out, and soon he joined his brother for games.
The third little pig was the most careful. He found strong bricks and mixed sticky mortar. Brick by brick, he built a very sturdy little house. It took him a long, long time, but he hummed happily as he worked, knowing his house would be very strong.
One day, a big, blustery wolf came wandering by. He saw the straw house. 'Little pig, little pig, let me come in!' called the wolf. The little pig knew it wasn't safe, so he said, 'Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin!' The wolf took a big breath and gave a gentle puff. The straw house wobbled a little, and the first little pig scurried out and ran all the way to his brother's stick house.
The two little pigs huddled inside the stick house. Soon, the wolf arrived. 'Little pigs, little pigs, let me come in!' called the wolf. 'Not by the hairs on our chinny chin chins!' they squeaked. The wolf took another big breath and gave a soft blow. The stick house shook a little, and the two little pigs dashed out and ran as fast as their trotters could carry them to their third brother's brick house.
All three little pigs were now safe inside the strong brick house. It felt so solid and warm. Soon, the wolf came to the brick house. 'Little pigs, little pigs, let me come in!' he called. 'Not by the hairs on our chinny chin chins!' they called back bravely from their cozy spot.
The wolf tried to puff and blow, but the brick house didn't even wiggle! Not one brick moved. The wolf tried and tried until he was quite tired. He sighed a big, sleepy sigh and decided to find somewhere else to wander.
Inside the brick house, the three little pigs cheered quietly. Their brother's strong, carefully built house had kept them safe. They snuggled together, feeling happy and secure, knowing that planning ahead and building strong is a wonderful way to make a cozy, safe home for bedtime dreams.
