Deep in the Whispering Woods lived a family of bears: Mama Bear, Papa Bear, and Baby Bear. They had a cozy little house with three comfortable chairs, three bowls of porridge, and three beds.
One sunny morning, a little girl named Lily was exploring the woods. She was a curious little girl, always eager to discover new things.
Suddenly, Lily spotted a little house nestled amongst the trees. She peeked inside. The house was so inviting, filled with the warm scent of honeyed porridge.
Lily tiptoed inside. She saw three bowls of porridge on the table. One was too hot, another was too cold, and one was just right. Lily carefully scooped a spoonful of the perfect porridge and happily ate it all up.
Next, she noticed three chairs. One was too hard, another was too soft, and one was just the right height for her. Lily sat comfortably in the perfect chair.
Finally, Lily saw three beds. One was too big, another was too small, and one was just the right size. Lily climbed into the snug little bed and drifted off to sleep.
Mama, Papa, and Baby Bear returned home. They were surprised to find their house a little messy and noticed a small footprint on the floor.
Mama Bear peeked into the living room. 'Goodness! Who ate my porridge?' she whispered.
Papa Bear saw the empty bowl and sighed. 'And who sat in my comfortable chair?' he asked.
Baby Bear entered the room. 'Oh no! Someone slept in my tiny bed!' he said with a tiny frown.
Mama Bear said, 'Don't worry, my little bears. We will clean up our home. Perhaps the little girl who visited needs to be reminded that it's not okay to take things that aren't theirs.
She continued, 'It's important to respect everyone's belongings and to ask before taking anything.'
As the bears talked, they noticed Lily's footprint and felt a pang of sympathy. This little girl was clearly so hungry, that she took someone else's food.
Lily awoke to the sound of gentle voices. She looked up and saw the kind bears. They offered her a bowl of yummy berries. Lily was very embarrassed. She immediately apologized to the bears.
Lily explained, 'I was so hungry and curious, I didn't think about asking.'
The bears smiled and said, 'It's okay to be curious, Lily. But remember it's always best to ask before touching or taking something that isn't yours.'
Lily thanked the bears and said goodbye, feeling much better. She understood that kindness and respect are very important.
From that day on, Lily always remembered to be kind and ask before touching anything that wasn't hers. She learned a valuable lesson about respecting other people's belongings.
