Luna the llama lived on a hill covered in wildflowers. She had the fluffiest, softest wool in the whole wide world! It was a beautiful creamy white, and everyone admired it. But Luna didn’t like sharing her wool. “It’s *mine*,” she’d say, puffing out her chest. “And it’s too special for anyone else to touch!”
One sunny afternoon, Beatrice the bunny hopped up to Luna. “Oh, Luna,” she said, shivering a little. “Winter is coming, and I haven’t quite enough fluff for a warm nest. Could you spare just a tiny bit of your wool?” Luna shook her head. “No, Beatrice! My wool is perfect just the way it is. I need it all for myself.” Beatrice’s ears drooped, and she hopped sadly away.
Next, Finley the fox trotted by. “Luna,” he asked politely, “my little sister is feeling poorly. A soft wool blanket would make her feel so much better. Could you possibly share a little?” Luna frowned. “Absolutely not, Finley! Go find your own wool!” Finley sighed and walked away, looking disappointed.
As the days grew colder, Luna noticed something strange. She felt…lonely. She had all the beautiful wool in the world, but no one wanted to play with her. Beatrice and Finley avoided her hill, and the other animals didn’t come to visit. Luna realized her beautiful wool wasn’t making her happy at all.
One evening, Luna saw Beatrice struggling to gather dry leaves for her nest. And Finley was trying to find soft moss for his sister’s bed. Luna felt a pang of guilt. She walked over to Beatrice and said, “Beatrice, I… I was wrong. You can have some of my wool.” Beatrice’s eyes lit up! Luna carefully sheared a fluffy patch and gave it to her.
Then, Luna found Finley and offered him a generous amount of wool for his sister. Finley was overjoyed! Soon, Luna was happily sharing her wool with all the animals on the hill. She helped them make warm nests, cozy blankets, and soft pillows.
Luna discovered that sharing her wool didn’t make it any less beautiful. In fact, it made her feel warmer inside than any wool ever could. She learned that having friends and making others happy was the most wonderful feeling of all. From that day on, Luna the llama was known not just for her lovely wool, but for her kind and generous heart.
As the stars twinkled, Luna snuggled into her own cozy bed, surrounded by her happy friends. She closed her eyes and smiled, knowing that sharing truly is caring. And that’s a very sweet dream to have, isn’t it?
