Once upon a time, in a cozy little kitchen, lived a tiny mouse named Pip. Lily loved visiting her Grandma’s kitchen, and one day, she decided to share her juicy blueberry with Pip. She carefully rolled the blueberry towards him.
Pip’s whiskers twitched with delight! He nibbled the blueberry, and then… he asked for a tiny napkin. Lily giggled and found a small, flower-printed napkin for him. “Thank you!” squeaked Pip.
After wiping his paws, Pip noticed the kitchen floor was a little dusty. “Oh dear!” he said. “Perhaps a little sweep?” So, Lily and Pip found a miniature broom and swept the kitchen together. It was fun!
Sweeping made Pip thirsty! He politely asked for a tiny drop of water. Lily filled a bottle cap with water, and Pip took a little sip. “Ahhh, perfect!” he chirped.
Now that Pip was refreshed, he spotted a pile of Lily’s building blocks. “These look like they need sorting!” he exclaimed. Lily and Pip spent a happy time sorting the blocks by color – red, blue, and yellow.
Sorting blocks made Lily think about drawing a picture *with* the blocks! She asked Pip to help her choose which blocks to use. Pip pointed to the blue ones. “Blue like the sky!” he squeaked.
Drawing made Lily sleepy. She yawned a big yawn. Pip noticed and said, “Oh my! You look tired. Perhaps a cozy blanket?” He helped Lily fetch a soft, fluffy blanket.
Lily snuggled under the blanket, feeling warm and safe. Pip curled up beside her, feeling happy and content. He realized that sharing a blueberry had led to a whole afternoon of fun and helpfulness.
Lily gave Pip a gentle pat. “Thank you for helping me, Pip,” she whispered. Pip closed his eyes, feeling grateful for his new friend. And as Lily drifted off to sleep, she knew that even the smallest act of kindness could make the biggest difference.
And if you give a mouse a blueberry, he’s going to ask for a napkin, and then a sweep, and then a drink, and then… a friend to share it all with. Sweet dreams!
