Hammy the hamster was a fluffy ball of energy. He zoomed around his wheel, nibbled on sunflower seeds, and explored his cozy cage. But Hammy had a problem: he didn't have a name!
His human, Lily, was trying to choose the perfect one. "Should he be called Squeaky? Or Zoom? Maybe Nibbles?" Lily pondered, looking at Hammy's tiny, curious face.
Hammy wished he could tell her what he liked! He scurried to his favorite corner, where he kept a collection of tiny objects: a colorful button, a sparkly bead, and a miniature acorn.
As Lily watched, Hammy pushed the button with his nose. Then he nudged the acorn, making it roll across the floor of his cage. Finally, he picked up the bead and held it up high with his paws.
Lily giggled. "Oh, I think I get it!" she exclaimed. "The button is for 'Button' – that's a nice, round name. The acorn for 'Nutsy' – because acorns are like little nuts! And the bead for 'Sparkle' – because you're a sparkly little hamster!"
Hammy was thrilled! He chattered happily, running in circles. He loved all three names. Choosing was hard, but Lily had made it fun.
That night, Lily decided to let Hammy choose. She whispered the three names, one by one. Hammy twitched his nose when she said 'Sparkle'. It was decided!
From that day on, Hammy was known as Sparkle. He felt proud of his name, and even prouder of his friendship with Lily. He knew that no matter what name he had, their friendship was the most special thing of all.
And as Sparkle snuggled in his fluffy bed, he dreamed of more adventures, knowing that with Lily by his side, everything felt perfect. Good night, little ones. Sleep tight and dream sweet dreams!
