Pip the Guinea Pig's Cozy Bedtime Adventure

2 min read ・ Age 3

Pip was a little guinea pig who *loved* bedtime. He had the fluffiest hay, the warmest blanket, and a little wooden house just for him. But tonight, something was wrong! His favorite blanket was missing!

Pip squeaked and looked everywhere. Under his house? Nope. Behind the food bowl? Not there. He started to feel a little bit worried. “Oh dear,” he whispered. “Bedtime isn’t the same without my blanket!”

His friend, Rosie the hamster, peeked out of her cage. “What’s wrong, Pip?” she asked kindly. Pip explained about his missing blanket, and his voice trembled a little.

Rosie thought for a moment. “Well,” she said, “maybe we can find something else cozy! How about some extra fluffy hay?” Pip wasn’t sure. Hay was good for munching, but not quite the same as his blanket.

Rosie gathered a big pile of the softest hay and made a little nest right next to Pip’s house. Pip cautiously tried it. It *was* surprisingly comfy! He snuggled into the hay, and it felt warm and snuggly.

“It’s… it’s not bad!” Pip admitted with a little squeak of happiness. “Thank you, Rosie!”

Just then, Farmer Giles walked by and chuckled. “Looking cozy, you two!” He held up Pip’s blanket. “I took it to wash it, Pip. It will be back tomorrow, fresh and clean!”

Pip didn’t mind so much anymore. He was already feeling sleepy and warm in his hay nest. He realized that even without his favorite blanket, he could still have a wonderful bedtime.

He snuggled closer to Rosie, who was already drifting off to sleep. “Goodnight, Rosie,” he whispered. “Goodnight, cozy hay!”

And with a happy sigh, Pip the guinea pig closed his eyes and dreamed sweet dreams, learning that sometimes, a little bit of change can lead to a perfectly cozy bedtime.
