Pip was a little guinea pig with a very big love for carrots. Every evening, Mama Guinea Pig would give Pip a pile of crunchy, orange carrot sticks. Pip thought carrots were the BEST treat in the whole wide world!
He would nibble and munch, and sometimes, he wouldn’t share *any* with his friends, Poppy and Gus. Poppy and Gus loved carrots too, but Pip would hide his pile and say, “These are *my* carrots!”
One evening, Mama Guinea Pig gave Pip an extra-large pile of carrots. “Wow!” squeaked Pip. He started to eat, but Poppy and Gus looked a little sad. They only had a small pile each.
Pip kept munching, but he noticed Poppy and Gus weren’t having much fun. They were just watching him eat. He started to feel a little…funny. It wasn’t as fun eating all those carrots when his friends weren’t happy.
Pip took a deep breath. He pushed a few of his carrots towards Poppy. “Here, Poppy,” he said quietly. Poppy’s eyes lit up! She nibbled a carrot and smiled. Then, Pip pushed some carrots towards Gus. “And here, Gus!”
Gus wiggled his nose with delight. Soon, all three guinea pigs were munching on carrots together, chatting and giggling. Pip realized something amazing: carrots tasted even BETTER when shared with friends!
“Thank you, Pip,” said Poppy. “Sharing makes everything more fun!” Gus nodded happily. “Yes! It’s much nicer to eat with friends.”
Pip smiled. He still loved carrots, but he loved sharing them even more. From that day on, Pip always shared his treats with Poppy and Gus. He learned that being kind and generous made everyone happy, especially him!
Mama Guinea Pig smiled warmly. “That’s my sweet Pip,” she said. “Sharing is a wonderful thing.” Pip snuggled close to his mama, feeling cozy and content. He knew that even the best treats are better when enjoyed with friends. Now close your eyes, little one, and dream sweet dreams of sharing and friendship.
