Pip was a little guinea pig with soft brown and white fur. He lived in a nice big cage filled with yummy hay and a cozy little house. As the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the room, Pip knew it was almost bedtime.
First, Pip had his evening snack. Crunch, crunch, crunch went his little teeth as he munched on a fresh piece of tasty lettuce. Then he took a long drink from his water bottle. Slurp, slurp, slurp. It felt good to be full and hydrated before sleeping.
Next, Pip did his sleepy rounds. He walked around his cage, checking on everything. He sniffed his favorite hidey-house, made of soft wood. He rearranged a little pile of hay, making it just right for snuggling. His friend, a soft toy rabbit named Fluffy, was already settled in a corner, looking sleepy too.
Pip scurried into his hidey-house. It was warm and dark inside, like a little cave. He burrowed into the clean, soft hay. He could hear the quiet sounds of the house outside his cage – a gentle hum, a soft step. It made him feel safe and snug.
He thought about his day. He had run on his wheel, explored a new cardboard tube, and had lovely cuddles. It had been a good day. Now, his eyelids felt heavy. His little nose twitched just once more.
Pip curled up tight in the hay. He felt his breathing slow down, gentle in and out. The world outside his cozy house seemed far away. All that mattered was the warmth of the hay, the safety of his cage, and the sleepy feeling spreading through his little body.
Little Pip the guinea pig closed his eyes. He was ready for dreams of endless hay fields and sunny days. He drifted off to sleep, feeling perfectly cozy and safe in his warm bed. Sweet dreams, little Pip!
