Once upon a time, in a faraway land filled with sparkling seas and towering mountains, lived a boy named Icarus and his clever father, Daedalus.
Daedalus was a brilliant inventor. He had been locked in a tall tower by a mean king, but he wasn't sad! He used his cleverness to create magnificent wings made of feathers and wax.
Icarus watched in amazement as his father attached the wings to his own back. They were beautiful and strong! Daedalus warned Icarus, "My boy, these wings will help us fly, but you must listen carefully to me."
“The sun will melt the wax if you fly too close," his father explained. "And if you fly too low, the sea will soak the feathers and we will fall."
Icarus promised to listen carefully. He was so excited to fly! With a flap of their wings, Daedalus and Icarus soared into the bright sky. It was breathtaking! The world looked like a tiny toy spread out below them.
Icarus giggled as he swooped and soared, higher and higher. He felt so free and happy! But then, he forgot his father's warning. He flew too high, closer and closer to the sun.
The warm sun felt delightful at first. But soon, the wax on his wings began to soften. Icarus felt a scary wobble as a small piece broke off. He started to fall!
Daedalus cried out, "Icarus! Come down!" but it was too late. Icarus tumbled towards the sea, splashing down with a loud 'splash!'.
Fortunately, some kind fishermen saw him and rescued him. Icarus learned a very important lesson that day: Always listen to your elders and be careful when you're doing something exciting.
Though his adventure ended sooner than he planned, Icarus was grateful for his father’s love and his own escape. From that day forward, he always remembered to be cautious and always listen to wise advice.
