Cosmo was a little grey cat with very big, green eyes. Every night, when the sun went down, Cosmo had a very important job: finding the perfect place to sleep! He tried the sunny windowsill, but it was too hard. He tried the top of the bookshelf, but it was too wobbly. He even tried inside a big, empty box, but it wasn’t quite cozy enough.
Cosmo’s mama cat watched him with a gentle smile. “What’s wrong, little one?” she purred. Cosmo explained all the places he’d tried. “None of them feel *just* right,” he sighed. Mama Cat nudged him with her nose. “Sometimes, the best place isn’t the fanciest, but the warmest.”
Cosmo thought about that. He looked around the room. He saw his little brother, Leo, curled up on a soft, blue blanket. He saw his sister, Luna, nestled between two fluffy pillows. And then, he saw Mama Cat’s big, warm tummy!
He carefully climbed onto Mama Cat’s tummy and snuggled in. It was SO warm and cozy! He purred and purred, a little rumble like a tiny motor. Mama Cat wrapped her paw around him. “See?” she whispered. “Sometimes, the best place to be is close to family.”
Leo and Luna looked up and purred too. They all snuggled together, a pile of warm, sleepy kittens. Cosmo realized Mama Cat was right. It didn’t matter if the spot was fancy or hard or wobbly. What mattered was feeling safe, warm, and loved.
Cosmo closed his eyes, feeling the gentle rise and fall of Mama Cat’s tummy. He was finally cozy and comfortable. He knew, even if he couldn’t find the *perfect* spot all by himself, he always had a perfect place with his family. And that made bedtime the best time of all.
Soon, all three kittens were fast asleep, dreaming sweet dreams of chasing yarn balls and playing in the sunshine. Mama Cat watched over them, her heart full of love. She knew that even the smallest kitten needed a cozy place to rest and a family to keep them safe.
