Cosmo was a very busy kitten! He loved to chase dust bunnies, bat at dangling strings, and zoom around the house. He’d pounce and leap and wiggle all day long. Even when the sun started to set, Cosmo kept going. He’d chase his tail until he was dizzy, then try to climb the curtains!
Mama Cat would gently say, “Cosmo, little one, it’s almost bedtime. Even the fastest kittens need to rest.” But Cosmo would just blink his bright green eyes and zoom off again. He didn’t understand *why* he needed to slow down. It was much more fun to play!
One evening, after a particularly energetic game of chase-the-feather, Cosmo tried to jump onto his favorite windowsill. But his legs felt wobbly, and he tumbled onto a soft cushion with a little *thump*. He didn’t hurt himself, but he felt…tired. Really, really tired.
Mama Cat purred softly and nudged Cosmo with her nose. “Your body is telling you something, little one,” she said. “It’s saying it needs to rest and recharge.” She led him to a cozy bed filled with soft blankets.
Cosmo snuggled into the blankets. Mama Cat began to gently groom his fur, and Cosmo felt his eyelids getting heavy. He listened to the quiet rhythm of her purr, and it made him feel safe and calm. He realized that slowing down wasn’t so bad after all.
“It feels…nice,” Cosmo mumbled sleepily. Mama Cat smiled. “It does, doesn’t it? Taking care of yourself is important, even for busy kittens.”
Cosmo closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of dust bunnies and feathers. He learned that even though playing is fun, a cozy bedtime and a good rest are the best adventures of all. And tomorrow, he knew, he’d have plenty of energy for more playtime…after a good night’s sleep!
