Once upon a time, high above the world, lived Luna the Moon. Luna loved to shine her gentle light down on everyone as they slept.
But even Luna got tired after a long night. She needed her sleep too! Every night, before the sun peeked over the horizon, Luna would start her bedtime routine.
First, she'd gather her sleepy star friends. Twinkle, Sparkle, and Shimmer were always eager to join her.
"Time to get ready for bed!" Luna would call out in a soft, silvery voice.
Twinkle would yawn a big, sparkly yawn. Sparkle would rub her sleepy eyes. And Shimmer would give a little sleepy wiggle.
Next, Luna would give each star a warm, goodnight hug. Twinkle got a hug that smelled like stardust. Sparkle got a hug that tickled like moonbeams. And Shimmer got a hug as soft as a cloud.
After the hugs, it was time to brush their teeth. Luna had a special toothbrush made of moonlight, and the stars had tiny toothbrushes made of starlight. They brushed and brushed until their teeth sparkled brighter than ever.
Then, Luna would read them a bedtime story. Sometimes it was a story about a friendly cloud, other times it was about a brave little firefly. Tonight, she read them a story about a sleepy little bunny who learned to love bedtime.
As Luna read, the stars' eyes began to droop. Twinkle snuggled close to Sparkle. Sparkle yawned and leaned on Shimmer. And Shimmer curled up into a tiny, shimmering ball.
When the story was finished, Luna tucked each star into its own cozy corner of the night sky. She sang them a lullaby about sleepy sheep and dreaming clouds.
Soon, all the stars were fast asleep. Twinkle dreamt of playing hide-and-seek with the moonbeams. Sparkle dreamt of dancing with the comets. And Shimmer dreamt of floating on a fluffy white cloud.
Luna smiled. She gave one last look at her sleeping friends, and then she slowly closed her eyes. It was time for her to sleep too.
And as the sun began to rise, painting the sky with beautiful colors, Luna the Moon and her sleepy star friends slumbered peacefully, ready for another night of shining bright.
