Finley the dragon wasn't like the other dragons. While they roared and chased sparkly things, Finley loved collecting soft, fluffy clouds. He'd spend his days gathering them, piling them high in his cave, making a giant, fluffy bed.
One night, Finley's mama dragon said, "Finley, it's time for bed!" Finley groaned. He loved playing with his cloud-bed! But Mama Dragon explained that even dragons need sleep to grow big and strong.
Finley's friend, Pip the little bat, flew in. "What's wrong, Finley?" he squeaked. Finley explained that he didn't want to go to bed. Pip, always wise for a little bat, said, "My mama always sings me a lullaby! Maybe your mama has a dragon song?"
Mama Dragon smiled. She had a song, a lovely rumbling song about stars and moonbeams. Finley snuggled into his cloud bed, listening to his mama's comforting song. It made his tummy feel warm and fuzzy.
After the song, Mama Dragon tucked him in with a cloud blanket. Finley felt sleepy. He imagined the clouds turning into fluffy sheep jumping over the moon. Soon, Finley drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, Finley woke up feeling rested and happy. He thanked Pip for the idea and promised to help Pip with his cloud-collecting that day, before bed time of course!
From that day on, Finley always followed his bedtime routine. He even helped other little dragons understand the importance of sleep and the magic of bedtime stories. He learned that even brave dragons need a good night's rest to be their best selves.
