Danny the dinosaur was a very happy dinosaur. He loved to stomp and chomp and play! But most of all, Danny loved his sparkly rock. It wasn't just *any* rock; it shimmered with all the colors of the rainbow. He found it near the bubbly blue river and carried it everywhere.
One sunny morning, Danny was building a magnificent castle of mud with his friends, Rosie the Triceratops and Terry the Pterodactyl. “Look at my sparkly rock!” Danny announced, placing it right on top of the tallest tower. “It makes my castle the best!”
Rosie and Terry wanted to add to the castle too. “Can I use some leaves to make a flag?” asked Rosie. “And I can find some pretty flowers for the walls!” offered Terry. But Danny held his sparkly rock tightly. “No! My rock stays right here. It’s *my* favorite.”
Rosie and Terry looked sad. They started building their own, smaller castles, away from Danny. Danny watched them, and his tummy felt a little bit funny. It wasn’t a happy, chomp-y feeling. It was a quiet, lonely feeling.
“What’s wrong, Danny?” asked Terry, noticing Danny’s face. Danny sighed. “I… I don’t know. You both seem to be having more fun over there.”
Rosie smiled gently. “It’s more fun when we all build together, Danny. Sharing makes everything better!” Terry nodded. “Maybe your sparkly rock would look even *more* amazing if we decorated around it *together*!”
Danny thought about this. He carefully took his sparkly rock and placed it in the middle of a big, flat space. “Okay,” he said. “Let’s build a super-duper castle, all together!”
Rosie added colorful leaves, Terry brought bright flowers, and Danny used his strong tail to pat down the mud. They laughed and worked as a team. The castle was even more beautiful than Danny had imagined, and his sparkly rock shone brighter than ever.
“Wow!” said Danny. “This is the best castle ever! And it’s even more fun building it with friends.” He learned that sharing his favorite things didn’t make them less special; it made playtime even more wonderful.
As the sun began to set, Danny, Rosie, and Terry snuggled close to their amazing castle. Danny held his sparkly rock, feeling warm and happy. Sharing with friends was the best adventure of all. Now close your eyes, little one, and dream of sparkly rocks and dinosaur friends.
