Leo loved bedtime. Not just for the sleepy snuggles, but for the costumes! Every night, Leo wore a different costume to bed. Tonight, it was a shimmering, sky-blue cape. As soon as he put it on, Leo felt a tickle in his toes and a whoosh of air around him.
Suddenly, Leo wasn't in his bedroom anymore. He was floating in a fluffy cloud city! Houses were made of cotton candy, and streets were paved with rainbow sprinkles. A little cloud-lamb bleated sadly. "I've lost my fluff," she cried. "Now I can't bounce!"
Leo wanted to help. He remembered his cape. With a swish and a flick, he pulled off a piece of its shimmering fabric. "Here," he offered the lamb. "Use this as your fluff!" The lamb tied the shimmering fabric to her back, and bounced higher than ever before. "Thank you!" she cheered.
Next, Leo met a grumpy cloud-bear who had lost his roar. "I can't scare anyone without my roar!" he grumbled. Leo thought hard. He took another piece of his cape and shaped it into a tiny trumpet. "Try this!" he said. The cloud-bear blew into the trumpet. It made a funny, squeaky roar, but it was enough to make him smile. "You're a good kid," he said.
Leo continued his journey, sharing pieces of his cape with anyone who needed help. He helped a cloud-bird fix its broken wing and gave a cloud-bunny a soft blanket. Even though his cape was getting smaller, Leo’s heart felt bigger and bigger.
Finally, he met the Cloud King, who had a long, white beard and a crown made of stardust. "I've been watching you, Leo," the King boomed. "Your kindness is a treasure. I want to give you a gift." He waved his hand, and Leo's cape became whole again, even more shimmery than before. "Now, it's time for you to go home."
With another whoosh, Leo was back in his bed, his blue cape snug around him. It felt warm from the hugs of the cloud-lamb and the cloud-bear. Leo knew it had been a magical dream, a dream made possible by his bedtime costume and his kind heart. He snuggled into his pillow, smiling, ready for another adventure tomorrow night.
