Sleepy Little Bunnies Get Ready for Their Cozy Burrow Bedtime

3 min read ・ Age 5

In a field of soft green grass, where pretty flowers grew, lived three little bunnies named Pip, Floppy, and Dot. They had long ears that wiggled when they were happy and twitching noses that sniffed the air. All day long, they loved to hop, skip, and jump! They played hide-and-seek among the tall clovers and chased friendly butterflies fluttering by.

As the sun started to dip below the hills, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, Pip, Floppy, and Dot knew their busy day was winding down. The air grew cooler and quieter. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves on the trees nearby. It was time to think about heading home to their cozy burrow.

Hop, hop, hop! With little bounces, the three bunnies began their journey. They hopped past a friendly old oak tree where a sleepy robin was tucking its head under its wing. They hopped over a smooth gray stone and wiggled their noses at a tiny snail slowly sliding along. The path to their burrow felt safe and familiar.

Soon, they reached the entrance to their home. It was a small, dark opening tucked neatly under some bushes. It might look dark from the outside, but inside, it was the warmest, coziest place a bunny could wish for. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, they squeezed through the opening, one after the other.

Inside their burrow, it was soft and smelled like fresh earth. Their mother, a kind bunny with soft gray fur, was waiting for them. Their father was there too, arranging some extra soft grass in their sleeping nook. "Hello, little ones," their mother whispered. "Time to get ready for sleepy time."

Pip, Floppy, and Dot helped fluff up their grassy bed, making it extra soft and comfy. They gently wiggled their ears one last time and settled close together. Being in their burrow felt so safe, like being wrapped in a warm blanket. They could hear the quiet sounds of the night outside, but inside, they were perfectly protected.

They snuggled close to their mother and father, feeling warm and loved. Floppy yawned a big bunny yawn, showing his little teeth. Dot tucked her paws under her chin. Pip wriggled his nose against his brother's soft fur. It felt so nice to be together, ready for rest.

As their parents hummed a soft, gentle tune, Pip, Floppy, and Dot closed their eyes. Their wiggling noses slowly stopped twitching, and their long ears lay flat and relaxed. They drifted off to sleep, dreaming of sunny fields and happy hops, safe and sound in their cozy burrow until morning. Goodnight, little bunnies.
