Sam the sheep was feeling glum. It was bedtime, but sleep wouldn't come. He tossed and turned, his fluffy tail wagging with worry. 'Oh dear,' sighed Sam, 'I have the bedtime blues!'
Mama Sheep noticed Sam's sadness. She snuggled close and said, 'Sometimes, sleepy-time can be tricky, my little lamb. But we can find a way to chase away those blues!'
Mama Sheep suggested a warm bath. The bubbly water calmed Sam's worries. Then, she helped him put on his softest pajamas – a pair of bright blue ones with little fluffy clouds!
Next, they went for a quiet walk under the twinkling night sky. Sam looked at the moon, so big and bright, and the stars, like tiny diamonds scattered across the black velvet cloth. The gentle night breeze felt cool and calming on his woolly fleece.
They saw fireflies dancing in the meadow, their lights blinking on and off like tiny messages in the dark. Sam giggled, feeling his bedtime blues slowly fading away.
Back in his cozy bed, Mama Sheep read him a story about a little bunny who loved the moon. The soft words and gentle rhythm soothed Sam's heart. He felt his eyelids getting heavy.
Mama Sheep whispered, 'Close your eyes, little one. Think of all the happy things from today – your tasty clover, your games with your friends, the warm sun on your wool.'
Sam imagined the happy memories, and slowly, peacefully, he drifted off to sleep. He dreamt of fluffy clouds and bright stars, and the gentle glow of the moon. He woke up feeling refreshed and happy, ready for a brand-new day!
From that day on, even when Sam felt a little bit of the bedtime blues, he remembered his magical night walk and the warm comfort of his mama's love. He knew that even the trickiest bedtime worries could be chased away with a little bit of warmth, calmness, and happy thoughts.
