Willow the Wolf Learns to Share Her Moonbeams

Willow was a little wolf with a very special hobby. Every night, when the moon was full and bright, she would collect moonbeams in her paws. They felt cool and sparkly, and Willow loved to watch them glow. She kept them all for herself, piling them high in her cozy den.

One night, Barnaby Bear came to Willow’s den. He looked very sad. “I wanted to make a moonbeam crown for my mama,” he sniffled, “but I can’t catch any! They’re too quick.” Willow hugged her pile of moonbeams tightly. She didn’t want to share. They were *her* moonbeams, after all.

Old Man Owl, wise and gentle, perched on a branch nearby. He hooted softly, “Willow, moonbeams are most beautiful when they’re shared. A little light given away doesn’t dim your own; it makes everything brighter.”

Willow thought about what Old Man Owl said. She looked at Barnaby’s sad face, and then at her huge pile of moonbeams. It was a *very* big pile. Slowly, she offered Barnaby a handful. “Here,” she mumbled. “You can have some for your mama’s crown.”

Barnaby’s face lit up! He carefully took the moonbeams and began weaving them into a beautiful crown. As he worked, something amazing happened. The moonbeams Willow had given him seemed to sparkle even brighter than the ones she kept! And her own pile didn’t seem any smaller.

Soon, Rosie Rabbit and Finley Fox came by, also wanting moonbeams for special gifts. Willow happily shared with them too. Each time she gave away a moonbeam, her own felt warmer and glowed with a special happiness.

Old Man Owl smiled. “See, Willow?” he hooted. “Sharing doesn’t take away from you; it adds to the joy!”

Willow realized Old Man Owl was right. Sharing her moonbeams hadn’t made her less happy; it had made her *more* happy. She spent the rest of the night helping her friends create moonbeam gifts, and her den glowed with friendship and kindness. From that night on, Willow wasn’t just known as the little wolf who collected moonbeams, but as the little wolf who shared them with everyone.
