Lily and Rose were two little bunnies who lived in a cozy burrow under a big oak tree. Lily loved to paint with bright, colorful berries, and Rose loved to build tall towers with smooth, grey stones. They loved each other very much, but sometimes… they didn’t agree!
One sunny afternoon, Lily was painting a beautiful picture of a rainbow. Rose wanted to use the red berry juice, but Lily was already using it for the rainbow’s arc. “No, Rose!” Lily said. “I need the red!” Rose’s ears drooped. “But *I* want to make a red flower for my tower!”
Rose stomped her foot and ran to her tower, knocking over a few stones in a huff. Lily felt a little bit bad, but she kept painting. Soon, her rainbow was finished, but it didn’t feel as bright as it usually did. She looked over at Rose, who was trying to rebuild her tower, but looking very sad.
Lily hopped over to Rose. “I’m sorry I didn’t share the red berry juice,” she said quietly. “It wasn’t very kind of me.” Rose looked up. “I’m sorry I knocked over your painting space,” she mumbled. “I was just… frustrated.”
Lily had an idea! “Let’s use the purple berry juice instead!” she suggested. “We can both make something beautiful.” Rose’s ears perked up. Together, Lily painted a purple butterfly on her rainbow, and Rose used the purple juice to decorate her tower with tiny, sparkling flowers.
The rainbow and the tower looked even more wonderful with the purple touches. They realized that working together was much more fun than arguing. They giggled and snuggled close, happy to be sisters.
As the sun began to set, Mama Bunny tucked them both into bed. “Remember, my little bunnies,” she said, “even when you disagree, your love for each other is the strongest magic of all.” Lily and Rose closed their eyes, feeling warm and loved. They knew that no matter what, they would always be there for each other, two little bunnies, and the very best of friends.
Sweet dreams, little ones. Remember to always be kind and share with those you love.
