Sharing is Caring: A Sweet Bedtime Story about Friendship

Lily loved her teddy bear, Boo. Boo was soft and fluffy, with one button eye and a slightly wonky nose. Lily took Boo everywhere – to the park, to the shops, even to bath time!

One sunny afternoon, Lily and her mom went to the playground. Lily saw a little girl sitting alone on a swing, looking sad. The little girl had a bright red ball, but she wasn't playing with it.

Lily felt a little shy, but she remembered what her mommy always said: 'Sharing is caring!' She walked over to the little girl and smiled.

'Hi!' said Lily. 'My name is Lily, and this is Boo.'

The little girl looked up, surprised. 'My name is Maya,' she whispered. 'I'm all alone.'

Lily’s heart went out to Maya. 'Do you want to play with me and Boo?' Lily asked. Maya nodded shyly.

Lily and Maya spent the rest of the afternoon swinging, sliding, and giggling. Maya even showed Lily how to do a cartwheel! They shared the swings, taking turns going high in the sky.

At one point, Maya’s red ball rolled away. Lily helped Maya find it. Then Maya remembered her crayons, and they drew pictures together, sharing the crayons and swapping ideas.

As the sun began to set, Lily and Maya said goodbye. Maya hugged Lily tightly. 'Thank you for playing with me,' she said. 'It was so much fun!'

Lily felt warm and happy inside. Sharing her toys and her time with Maya had been even more fun than playing by herself. She knew that sharing made her and Maya both happy.

That night, snuggled up in bed with Boo, Lily smiled. She couldn't wait to see Maya again and share more fun together. She closed her eyes, thinking about how good it felt to share and be kind, drifting happily off to sleep.
