Princess Lily loved bedtime, but only when her special nightlight, a little star-shaped lamp, shone on her pillow. One night, the nightlight was gone! Lily's heart sank. The room felt dark and mysterious without its warm, comforting glow.
Instead of crying, Princess Lily decided to be brave. She knew she had to find her nightlight. She tiptoed out of her room, her little slippers making soft pitter-patter sounds on the castle floor.
The castle was quiet and still. Shadows danced on the walls, but Lily reminded herself to be brave and resourceful. She remembered her nanny teaching her how to follow a trail of sparkling stardust. She began to search, her eyes scanning the floor for the glittering particles.
The stardust led her through long hallways and past sleeping knights. She peeked into a room where a grumpy-looking dragon was snoring loudly. She didn't wake him, but she noticed that one of the dragon's scales, shimmering with a faint light, was remarkably similar to her nightlight!
Lily carefully followed the light, and the tiny stardust trail continued. She eventually discovered that the stardust trail led to the castle's garden. There, nestled amongst the flowers, was her nightlight! It had rolled off her bedside table during the day.
A kind garden gnome had found it and carefully placed it amongst the flowers, making sure it would be safe. The gnome smiled kindly and helped Lily put it back in her room. Lily felt relieved and grateful.
Back in her room, with her nightlight shining brightly again, Lily felt very happy. She had been brave, resourceful, and kind. She had solved the problem all by herself! She snuggled into her bed, feeling safe and warm, thankful for her adventure and her nightlight, ready for a wonderful night's sleep.
