Sparkle was a little pony with a very shiny coat. She lived in a beautiful meadow filled with wildflowers and soft, green grass. Every evening, as the sun began to set, Sparkle loved to play, but tonight, she noticed her friend, Bumble, looked very sad.
“What’s wrong, Bumble?” Sparkle asked, trotting over to him. Bumble sighed. “I can’t seem to get comfortable for bedtime. Every time I lie down, I feel a little tickle, and it keeps me awake!”
Sparkle thought for a moment. She knew how important it was to have a good night’s sleep. “Hmm,” she said. “Maybe something is in your hay bed? I can help you check!” Bumble’s ears perked up. He was so glad Sparkle offered to help.
Together, Sparkle and Bumble carefully lifted the hay, fluffing it up and looking closely. They didn’t find anything tickly, but they did find a little clump of tangled hay. “Oh!” said Bumble. “That *is* a bit bumpy!”
Sparkle gently used her nose to smooth out the hay, making it soft and even. “There,” she said. “Now try lying down.” Bumble carefully settled into his bed. He wiggled and snuggled, and then… a big smile spread across his face.
“It’s perfect!” he exclaimed. “Thank you, Sparkle! You’re the best friend a pony could ask for.” Sparkle felt warm and happy inside. Helping Bumble felt even better than playing.
As the stars began to twinkle, Sparkle and Bumble lay side-by-side, watching the fireflies dance. The meadow was quiet and peaceful. Sparkle closed her eyes, feeling sleepy and content. She knew that being kind and helpful brought the sweetest dreams.
“Goodnight, Bumble,” she whispered. “Sleep tight.”
“Goodnight, Sparkle,” Bumble replied, already drifting off to sleep. “And thank you again for helping me find my peaceful bedtime.”
And so, in the sleepy meadow, two little ponies dreamed sweet dreams, knowing that friendship and kindness were the most magical things of all.
