Percy Pig was a very busy piglet! All day long, he loved to play. He’d roll in the mud, chase butterflies, and build towers of blocks. But when bedtime came, Percy didn’t want to stop playing. “Five more minutes!” he’d squeal.
Mama Pig would smile. “Percy, even busy piglets need their sleep. Let’s start our bedtime routine.” First, they had a warm bath with bubbly soap. Percy splashed and played, but Mama Pig gently reminded him to be calm. “Slow splashes, Percy. We want to get sleepy, not splashy!”
Next, Mama Pig read Percy a story about a little cloud who drifted off to sleep. Percy snuggled close, listening to the gentle words. He imagined himself as a fluffy cloud, floating in the night sky. It made him feel very peaceful.
Then, it was time for a warm cup of chamomile tea (piggy tea, of course!). Percy sipped it slowly, feeling his tummy get cozy and warm. Mama Pig dimmed the lights and turned on a little nightlight shaped like a star.
“Now,” said Mama Pig, “let’s do some quiet breathing. Breathe in… and breathe out…” Percy copied his mama, taking deep, slow breaths. He noticed his body starting to relax. He wasn't thinking about blocks or butterflies anymore.
Mama Pig gave Percy a gentle hug and a kiss on his snout. “You are a good piglet, Percy. It’s time to close your eyes and dream sweet dreams.” Percy closed his eyes, remembering the fluffy cloud and the warm tea.
He wiggled his nose and let out a little sigh. The bedtime routine had worked! Percy Pig drifted off to sleep, dreaming of all the fun he would have tomorrow. He knew that even though playing was wonderful, a good night’s sleep was important too. And he knew Mama Pig’s bedtime routine would always help him feel calm and safe.
Sweet dreams, little one. Just like Percy Pig, you can have a perfect bedtime too. Remember to breathe deep, listen to your grown-ups, and snuggle close. Goodnight!
