Little Bear was getting ready for bed. He snuggled close to Mama Bear and asked, "Mama, what *is* love?" Mama Bear smiled. "Love is a warm feeling in your heart, Little Bear. But it's also something you *do*!"
Little Bear tilted his head. "Do? Like… building with blocks?"
Mama Bear chuckled. "Not exactly. Love is helping your friends, giving warm hugs, and saying kind words. It's showing people you care." Little Bear thought hard. He wanted to show everyone how much he loved them.
First, he waddled over to Papa Bear, who was reading. Little Bear gave him a big, fuzzy hug. "I love you, Papa!" he squeaked. Papa Bear hugged him back, his eyes twinkling. "And I love you too, Little One."
Next, Little Bear found his sister, Honey Bear, trying to build a tower of berries. It kept tumbling down! Little Bear carefully helped her stack the berries, one by one. "There!" he said. "Now it's strong!"
Honey Bear giggled. "Thank you, Little Bear! You're the best brother!"
Little Bear then remembered Rosie Rabbit, who had been feeling sad because she lost her favorite dandelion. He ran to Rosie’s burrow and found a bright, yellow buttercup. "Here, Rosie," he said. "It's not a dandelion, but maybe it will make you smile."
Rosie Rabbit’s ears perked up. "Oh, Little Bear! It's beautiful! Thank you! You are a very kind friend."
As Little Bear walked back to his den, he felt a warm glow inside. He realized Mama Bear was right. Love wasn't just a feeling; it was all the little things he did for others.
Mama Bear tucked Little Bear into bed. "You showed so much love today, Little Bear," she whispered. "You helped your Papa, your sister, and your friend Rosie. That’s wonderful."
Little Bear yawned, feeling sleepy and happy. "Love is… helping and hugging and being kind?"
"Exactly," Mama Bear said, kissing his forehead. "Now close your eyes and dream sweet dreams, filled with love."
Little Bear closed his eyes, his heart full of warmth. He knew that even the smallest bear could show the biggest love.
