In a lush Australian forest lived a little koala named Kookaburra. Kookaburra loved climbing tall eucalyptus trees, swinging from branch to branch, and snacking on leaves. But Kookaburra also loved a good night's sleep.
Every night, Kookaburra followed a special bedtime routine. First, he would carefully climb down from his cozy treetop bed. He would gently pat his tummy to make sure his eucalyptus snack was digested.
Then, Kookaburra would find a soft, mossy spot amongst the roots of the great gum trees. He would carefully tuck his paws under his body.
Next, he would close his eyes and take a few slow, deep breaths. He would imagine the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze and the soft chirping of the crickets. He would feel his body getting heavy and warm.
Kookaburra knew that a good night's sleep was important for playing and having a happy day, so he would listen to the sounds of the forest until he felt sleepy.
One night, a loud noise startled Kookaburra. A wild storm roared through the forest, shaking the trees, and the air crackled with thunder. Kookaburra felt his heart beat fast, and he was afraid of falling from his mossy bed.
But remembering his bedtime routine, Kookaburra took a deep breath, just like he always did. He imagined the soft, rustling leaves and felt his body getting heavy and warm.
Slowly, Kookaburra's breathing calmed down. He listened to the sounds of the storm—the wind howling, the rain falling—and he realized they were part of nature's rhythm. He remembered how strong and safe the forest was.
Soon, Kookaburra felt his eyelids getting heavy, and he drifted off to sleep. Even though the storm raged outside, Kookaburra slept soundly, his heart reassured by his peaceful bedtime routine.
The next morning, Kookaburra woke up refreshed and ready for a wonderful day filled with exploring the forest and enjoying the company of his treetop friends.
He knew that following his special bedtime routine helped him have a good night's sleep and feel happy and energized for the day ahead. He knew that a peaceful night's sleep was important for everyone, big or small.
