Deep in a lily pad pond lived a little frog named Froggy. Froggy was a shy frog, and he often spent his evenings hiding amongst the reeds, watching the other frogs play.
One night, as the moon shone brightly, Froggy heard a tiny whimper. He peeked through the reeds and saw a little tadpole, all alone and looking very sad. The tadpole had become separated from its family during a game of hide-and-seek.
Froggy, despite his shyness, felt a pang of sympathy. He knew what it felt like to be alone and scared. He hopped out from his hiding place and approached the little tadpole carefully.
“Hello,” croaked Froggy, his voice barely a whisper. “Are you alright?”
The little tadpole looked up, surprised. “I… I’m lost,” it whimpered, its tiny tail quivering. “I can’t find my family.”
Froggy felt a surge of warmth in his heart. He knew exactly what to do. He gently nudged the tadpole with his nose and said, “Don’t worry, I’ll help you.”
Froggy carefully guided the tadpole through the pond, using his strong legs to navigate around the water lilies and reeds. He called out softly for the tadpole’s family, his voice growing stronger with each call.
Soon, they heard a chorus of cheerful croaks in response. The tadpole’s family rushed over, overjoyed to see their little one safe and sound.
The tadpole’s mother, a large and friendly frog, swam over to Froggy. She thanked him profusely for his kindness and bravery. She had been so worried.
Froggy felt a wonderful glow of happiness. He had helped someone in need, and it felt amazing. He wasn’t so shy anymore, and he even joined in the tadpoles' game of hide-and-seek, happily splashing and giggling with his newfound friends.
That night, as Froggy drifted off to sleep among the lily pads, he smiled. He knew that helping others and being kind made him feel much braver and happier than hiding alone ever did. He had made a new friend, and that was the best feeling of all.
