Deep in Whispering Woods lived two fireflies, Flicker and Glow. Flicker was a speedy, adventurous firefly. He zipped through the night, always looking for new exciting places. Glow, on the other hand, was calm and collected. He preferred to shine quietly amongst the dew-kissed flowers, enjoying the peace and quiet.
At first, they didn't seem like they would be friends. Flicker found Glow's quiet nature boring, and Glow felt overwhelmed by Flicker's constant energy. They would often fly past each other, their lights flashing in brief, uncoordinated bursts.

He flew towards the light, his own glow steady and bright. He found Flicker, clinging weakly to a swaying leaf. 'Don't worry,' Glow said calmly, 'I'll help you find your way back.'
Glow used his knowledge of the woods—knowledge Flicker, in his haste, often ignored—to guide them back. He knew the hidden paths and the safest places to rest during the storm. Flicker, amazed by Glow's calm strength and knowledge, felt his fear diminish.
Together, they navigated the wind and rain, their lights flashing in perfect harmony. Flicker's speed and Glow's wisdom proved to be a perfect combination, a team effort that got them home safely.
When they reached the rest of the fireflies, the others were overjoyed to see them. Flicker and Glow, exhausted but happy, realized that their differences weren’t weaknesses, but strengths. Flicker learned that calm observation could be as valuable as his own enthusiasm. Glow discovered the joy of adventure and the comfort of a true friend.
From that night on, Flicker and Glow were the best of friends. They still had their differences, but they learned to appreciate each other’s unique qualities.
