Barnaby the Easter Bunny was very busy. It was almost Easter, and he had so many eggs to paint and baskets to fill! But Barnaby had a secret – a very special, extra-crunchy carrot that he loved to nibble on while he worked. It gave him extra hopping power!

One sunny morning, Barnaby hopped out of his burrow, carrot in paw, ready to start the day. He bounced and wiggled, checking his list. 'Red eggs for Lily, blue eggs for Tom…' Suddenly, *bump!* Barnaby tripped over a root and his special carrot tumbled into a patch of tall wildflowers. He looked and looked, but the carrot was nowhere to be seen!

Barnaby’s ears drooped. He felt a little sad. That carrot was his favorite! Just then, he saw Rosie the field mouse looking worried. “What’s wrong, Rosie?” Barnaby asked.

Rosie explained that she was collecting berries for her family, but a big gust of wind had blown her basket away, scattering the berries everywhere. Barnaby, even though he was sad about his carrot, knew he had to help. “Don’t worry, Rosie!” he said. “I’m good at finding things. Let’s look together.”

They searched and searched, and soon they had gathered all of Rosie’s berries. Rosie was so happy! “Thank you, Barnaby,” she squeaked. “You’re a very kind bunny.” As they were finishing up, Rosie spotted something orange peeking out from the wildflowers. “Look!” she cried. “Isn’t that…your carrot?”

There it was! Barnaby’s special carrot, safe and sound. He was overjoyed! But then he had an idea. He broke the carrot in half and offered a piece to Rosie. “Here,” he said. “You helped me, so I want to share my carrot with you.”

Rosie’s eyes twinkled. She happily nibbled on the carrot. It *was* extra crunchy! Barnaby realized that even though he loved his carrot, sharing it with a friend made it taste even sweeter. He finished preparing for Easter, feeling happy and warm inside.

That Easter, Barnaby delivered eggs to all the children, remembering that the best gifts aren’t just what you *get*, but the kindness and help you give to others. And sometimes, a little bit of sharing can make everything brighter, just like the sunshine on Easter morning.
