Barnaby the Easter Bunny was very busy. Easter was almost here, and he had SO many eggs to paint and hide! But Barnaby had a secret – he needed a special, extra-crunchy carrot to give him energy. It was his lucky carrot, and he always ate it before starting his big Easter deliveries.
He hopped and skipped, carrying a basket full of colorful eggs. Suddenly… oh no! Barnaby bumped into a little bush, and his lucky carrot tumbled out of his basket and rolled… and rolled… and rolled! He looked everywhere, but he couldn’t find it.
Barnaby’s ears drooped. He felt a little bit scared. What if he didn’t have enough energy to hide all the eggs? He sat down under a big sunflower, feeling very sad. A little bluebird landed nearby. “What’s wrong, Barnaby?” she chirped.
“I lost my lucky carrot!” Barnaby explained. “It helps me be brave and strong enough to deliver all the Easter eggs.” The bluebird tilted her head. “Don’t worry! We can look for it together. I’m a very good spotter!”
So Barnaby and the bluebird searched and searched. They asked Rosie the Rabbit and Finley the Field Mouse if they had seen a crunchy orange carrot. Rosie hadn’t, but Finley remembered seeing something orange roll past his burrow!
Finley led them to a patch of clover. And there it was! Barnaby’s lucky carrot, nestled right beside a bright red tulip. “Hooray!” cried Barnaby. He thanked Finley and the bluebird with a big bunny hug.
Barnaby munched on his lucky carrot, feeling his energy return. He realized that even when things go wrong, it’s okay to ask for help. And having friends makes everything better! He hopped off to hide the Easter eggs, feeling brave and happy.
He hid eggs under bushes, behind trees, and even inside a watering can! He remembered how kind his friends had been, and he made sure to hide an extra-special egg for Finley and a little pile of seeds for the bluebird. It was going to be a very happy Easter for everyone.
