Chester wasn't like the other cheeses in the fridge. They were all sharp cheddar, smooth mozzarella, or crumbly feta. Chester? He was a little bit of *all* of them! He had cheddar swirls, mozzarella bubbles, and tiny feta sprinkles. The other cheeses sometimes giggled and said, "Look at Chester, he's so… mixed up!"
Chester felt sad. He wished he was just one kind of cheese. He tried to smooth out his swirls, pop his bubbles, and shake off his sprinkles, but it didn't work! He was always a little bit of everything. One night, feeling particularly glum, Chester wished on the first moonbeam that peeked into the fridge.
Suddenly, a tiny voice squeaked, "What did you wish for, little cheese?"
Chester looked up and saw Luna, a little glowworm, twinkling beside him. "I wish I wasn't so different," Chester sighed. "The other cheeses don't think I fit in."
Luna blinked her bright light. "But being different is *wonderful*!" she exclaimed. "I glow, and the fireflies blink, and the stars twinkle. We all shine in our own way. If we were all the same, the night would be very boring!"
Chester thought about this. Luna was right! He *was* special. He wasn't just cheddar, or mozzarella, or feta – he was Chester, and that was perfectly okay. Just then, the fridge door opened, and a little girl named Lily reached for a snack.
Lily looked at all the cheeses, then her eyes lit up when she saw Chester. "Ooh! A rainbow cheese!" she giggled. "This one looks the most fun!"
Lily carefully placed Chester on a cracker with a slice of apple. "This is the best cheese ever!" she declared. The other cheeses were surprised. They had never been chosen for being 'fun' before.
Chester smiled. He realized that his differences weren't something to be ashamed of, but something to celebrate. He was delicious *because* he was a little bit of everything. From that night on, the other cheeses didn't giggle at Chester anymore. They admired his unique swirls, bubbles, and sprinkles.
Luna the glowworm winked at Chester. "See? Being yourself is the best thing you can be." Chester snuggled closer to the apple slice, feeling happy and content. He knew that even a mixed-up cheese could shine brightly, especially under the dreamy moonbeams. Now close your eyes, little one, and dream sweet dreams, just like Chester.
