Rosie was a very busy little red car. She loved zooming around town! She delivered packages with Mr. Bear, took Lily the Lamb to playdates, and even helped Old Man Turtle carry his groceries. Rosie *loved* being helpful, but today, Rosie felt… wobbly.
“I need to go faster!” she beeped, trying to zoom past a slow-moving tractor. But her engine sputtered. “Oh dear,” Rosie sighed. “I feel very sleepy, but I have so much to do!” She tried to deliver a big box of blueberries to Mrs. Fox, but she kept bumping along, going too slow.
Lily the Lamb saw Rosie struggling. “Rosie, you look tired!” she called out. “Maybe you should take a break.” Rosie shook her shiny red hood. “But I have deliveries! I can’t rest!”
Mr. Bear, who was nearby, rumbled kindly, “Even cars need to rest, Rosie. It’s important to listen to your engine. If it’s telling you it’s tired, you need to slow down.” Old Man Turtle nodded slowly. “A tired car can’t help anyone.”
Rosie thought about what her friends said. She slowly drove to a cozy little parking spot under a big, leafy tree. She closed her headlights and took a deep breath. It felt good to stop.
Lily brought Rosie a shiny blue pebble. “This is a sleepy stone,” she said. “Hold it tight and rest.” Mr. Bear gave Rosie a soft, fluffy cloud to lean on. Old Man Turtle told Rosie a very slow, very calming story about growing vegetables.
Soon, Rosie’s engine wasn’t sputtering anymore. She felt calm and rested. “Thank you, friends,” she beeped happily. “I feel much better!”
Rosie learned that it’s okay to slow down and rest when she’s tired. She finished her deliveries with a happy zoom, but she promised herself she would always listen to her engine and take breaks when she needed them. Now, it’s time for *you* to close *your* eyes and rest, just like Rosie. Sweet dreams!
