Rosie was a little red car with shiny wheels and a very big dream. She didn't want to just zoom around the race track like the other cars. Rosie wanted to *help* people! But she was small, and the other cars said, "You're too little to be helpful, Rosie. You can't carry big things!"
Rosie felt a little sad, but she didn't give up. She practiced driving very carefully, learning to stop and go smoothly. She practiced backing up and turning in tight spaces. She wanted to be the best helper car she could be.
One sunny morning, Old Man Tiber’s bakery truck broke down! He needed to deliver all his yummy blueberry muffins to the town picnic, but he couldn’t move his truck. The big trucks tried to push, but the truck was stuck fast.
"Oh dear!" cried Old Man Tiber. "The picnic will have no muffins!"
Rosie zoomed forward. "I can help!" she called out. The big trucks chuckled. "You? Little Rosie?"
Rosie didn't mind their laughter. She carefully attached a strong rope to the bakery truck. Then, she started to pull, slowly but surely. It was hard work, and she had to pull with all her might. She remembered her practice and kept her wheels steady.
Little by little, the bakery truck began to move! Rosie pulled and pulled, and finally, with a *whoosh*, the truck was free! Old Man Tiber cheered, and even the big trucks honked their horns in amazement.
"You did it, Rosie!" shouted Old Man Tiber. "You saved the picnic!"
Rosie beamed. She delivered the muffins with Old Man Tiber, and everyone at the picnic enjoyed a delicious treat. The big trucks apologized for doubting her. They realized that even small cars can do big things.
From that day on, Rosie was known as the most helpful car in town. She learned that believing in yourself and never giving up can make even the biggest dreams come true. And as the sun set, Rosie parked under the starry sky, happy and tired, dreaming of all the ways she could help tomorrow.
Now close your eyes, little one, and dream sweet dreams, just like Rosie. Remember, you can do anything you set your mind to, no matter how small you feel.
