Leo the Lion cub was SO excited! Tonight was his very first camping trip with Mama and Papa Lion. He packed his favorite blue blanket and a tiny flashlight. But when they got to the campsite, Leo felt a little bit…scared. Everything looked so big and dark!
“What if there are scary shadows?” Leo whispered to Mama Lion. Mama Lion gave him a warm hug. “Shadows are just playful shapes made by the trees and the moon, sweetie. And we’re right here with you.” Papa Lion started building the tent, and Leo helped by holding the poles (a little bit!).
As the sun went down, Papa Lion built a small, safe campfire. The flames danced and crackled, making cozy shadows that *didn’t* seem scary anymore. Mama Lion told stories about the twinkling stars, and Leo learned that each star had a name!
“Look, Leo!” Papa Lion pointed. “A little firefly!” A tiny light blinked near the tent. Leo giggled. It was like a little star had come down to say hello. He even saw a friendly owl hooting in the distance. It wasn't scary at all!
They roasted marshmallows on sticks, and Leo carefully made a gooey, sweet treat. It was the best marshmallow he had ever tasted! He snuggled between Mama and Papa Lion in the tent, wrapped in his blue blanket.
Even though it was dark outside, Leo felt safe and warm. He realized that camping wasn’t scary at all – it was an adventure! He loved being with his family and listening to the sounds of the forest. He closed his eyes, feeling very sleepy and very brave.
“I love camping,” Leo mumbled, drifting off to sleep. Mama Lion kissed his forehead. “We love camping with you, little one.” And under the twinkling stars, Leo dreamed of more camping adventures to come.
