Once upon a time, nestled amongst a bunch of other bananas, lived a little banana named Benny. Benny wasn't like the other bananas; he was a bit green and felt a little bit shy.
Every day, the banana bunch would swing gently in the warm sunshine, waiting to be picked. Benny watched his friends chatting and giggling. They all seemed so happy.

One day, a little robin chirped happily near Benny's branch. "Why are you so sad, little banana?" she asked.
Benny explained that he wanted to become a bedtime snack, but the farmer always chose the others first.

Benny listened carefully. The robin continued, "Look at how the sun warms your leaves, and see how beautifully you shine. Every banana has special qualities to shine in.
Benny thought about the robin's words. He saw the sunlight on his yellow peel, and felt a warmth he hadn’t noticed before. He thought, perhaps the farmer had a special reason for choosing the other bananas first.
A few days later, Benny felt a gentle tug. He was being carefully picked! A little girl carefully took him and placed him in a bowl with some milk.
Benny felt a wonderful feeling of belonging. He was now part of a cozy bedtime ritual. He knew he would be enjoyed.
Benny realized that being patient and waiting his turn had made his experience even more special. He was now a delightful bedtime snack, enjoyed by a sweet little girl.
From that day on, Benny always remembered the robin's words. He knew that every banana has a special journey, and that sometimes, the best things come to those who wait with patience.
