Leo was a little boy with bright, curious eyes and a heart full of sunshine. Every evening, as the sun began to set, Leo would start his bedtime routine. First, a warm bath with bubbly soap, then brushing his teeth until they sparkled, and finally, snuggling into his cozy pajamas.
Tonight, though, Leo noticed something was wrong. Old Man Tiber, who lived next door, was trying to carry a big pile of wood inside. Old Man Tiber wasn’t very strong anymore, and the wood kept tumbling from his arms. Leo wanted to help!
Leo quickly asked his mom if he could lend a hand. “Of course, sweetie,” she said. “Helping others is a wonderful thing to do.” Leo ran next door and offered to carry some of the smaller pieces of wood. Old Man Tiber smiled, his wrinkles crinkling around his eyes.
“Why thank you, Leo,” he said. “You’re a very kind boy.” Together, Leo and Old Man Tiber carried all the wood inside. It wasn’t easy, but Leo felt proud to be helping. He learned that even small hands can make a big difference.
After helping Old Man Tiber, Leo felt warm and fuzzy inside. He knew helping others made him feel good, almost as good as a warm hug from his mom. He went back home, finished his bedtime routine, and climbed into bed.
His mom tucked him in and read him a story about a little bear who loved to explore. Leo listened carefully, feeling safe and loved. He thought about Old Man Tiber and how happy he was to receive help. He realized that kindness was a special kind of magic.
As his mom finished the story, Leo yawned a big yawn. He closed his eyes, feeling sleepy and content. He knew that tomorrow would bring new adventures, but for now, it was time to rest. He drifted off to sleep, dreaming of sunshine, cozy pajamas, and the joy of being a kind and helpful boy.
Remember, little ones, just like Leo, even small acts of kindness can brighten someone’s day. And a good bedtime routine helps us feel safe, loved, and ready for sweet dreams.
